Every machine we sell is rebuilt in our own shop by our own technicians, to a written checklist, and signed off twice before it ships. Pick the tier that fits your budget — the inspection is the same on both.
Discount Online Fitness has bought, rebuilt and resold commercial gym equipment from its DFW Airport, Texas warehouse since 2012. Every machine goes through a written 20-point inspection by our own technicians — the same inspection for both condition tiers. Cleaned & Serviced is deep-cleaned and mechanically serviced, with worn parts replaced as needed, and carries a 30-day parts-and-labor warranty. Remanufactured is repainted, has its worn components replaced with new, and carries a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty.
Most used-equipment listings say "inspected" and leave it there. This page is what that word means here: how the shop works, the steps every machine goes through, and what the twenty points on the sheet actually cover. What to replace on any given unit is a judgment call — and it is made by technicians who have rebuilt these exact machines for years, not by a script.

Five things that never change with the price
By our own technicians, not a third party. The people who rebuild it are the people who stand behind it.
Signed by the rebuilder and by a second QC inspector. No sheet, no sale.
Frame, welds, cables, emergency stops and electrical are held to the same standard on both tiers. A frame that fails is a fail, whatever the price.
Pulled from the service menu where the machine has one and written on the tag — so you know exactly what you bought.
Run or lifted by a technician through its full range and full resistance before it leaves the building.

Same inspection, two standards
Think of Cleaned & Serviced as the base every machine gets, and Remanufactured as that same base taken all the way. You are not choosing whether it gets inspected — you are choosing how far past "sound and safe" we take it.

Cleaned & Serviced
- What it is
- The machine is deep-cleaned and its moving and wear components are inspected, lubricated, cleaned, or replaced as needed. Mechanically sound and safe.
- Wear parts
- Our technicians examine every one and decide what stays and what gets replaced, based on years of rebuilding these machines. Anything failed, unsafe or worn out comes off; a part with good life left stays — which is what keeps this tier affordable.
- Cosmetics
- Not addressed. No repainting, touch-up or cosmetic repair is included, so expect honest blemishes, wear and scratches. Safety decals must be present and readable.
- Safety & function
- Frame, cables, emergency stops, electrical and the final load test — never relaxed for price.
- Warranty
- 30-day parts-and-labor.
The base, taken further
Remanufactured
- What it is
- Everything in Cleaned & Serviced, taken further: the machine is repainted, worn components are replaced with new parts, and it is made mechanically sound and calibrated. Our highest condition standard for pre-owned equipment.
- Wear parts
- Worn components are replaced with new parts. Same technicians, same judgment, less patience with wear: on this tier a part that has done its share of the work comes off, not just the one that has failed.
- Cosmetics
- Repainted, with worn upholstery, overlays, grips and decals replaced so the machine presents like new — still pre-owned equipment, but you would have to look hard to tell.
- Safety & function
- Identical to Cleaned & Serviced, plus a cosmetic check before sign-off.
- Warranty
- 90-day parts-and-labor.

How a machine goes through the shop
Six steps, two signatures
The tier is set before work starts
Cleaned & Serviced or Remanufactured is marked at the top of the sheet first. The tier decides how far each point is taken — never whether the point is done.
The machine is identified
Brand, model, serial number and the hours or miles pulled from the service menu go on the sheet and the tag, with the work order number and the technician's name. The sheet travels with the machine.
Every point is worked and initialed
Each line is marked passed, repaired, replaced new, or not on this model — and initialed. A blank line means the machine is not done.
Parts are replaced on experience, not on a script
Our technicians have rebuilt these exact machines for years, and they decide what comes off and what stays. Anything failed, unsafe or worn out is replaced on every machine; on a Remanufactured build there is less patience with wear, and a part that has done its share of the work goes on new.
A second person runs the final test
Someone other than the rebuilder runs the load test, checks every line on the sheet and signs the QC block. The rebuilder cannot sign off their own work.
No sheet, no sale
The completed, twice-signed sheet is scanned to the work order in our system before the machine can be sold — so what you bought is documented, not remembered.
What gets checked
The 20-point inspection, in plain terms
Every machine type has its own sheet, but the twenty points cover the same ground on all of them. Every point, every unit, both tiers — the tier decides how far each one is taken.
- Frame and structureWelds, uprights and rails checked for cracks, rust and bends; the machine set level with no rock.
- Drive and wear componentsBelts, decks, rollers, chains, bearings, cables and pulleys inspected under load, then lubricated, adjusted or replaced on the technician's call.
- Motors, electronics and consolesDrive and incline motors, controllers and generators tested through their full range; every key and display segment, heart-rate grips and wireless receivers verified.
- Safety systemsEmergency stops, safety keys, guards, power cords, switches and grounding checked on every unit — never relaxed for price.
- Adjustments and calibrationPop-pins, seat slides and gas shocks locking positively; speed, incline, resistance and readouts calibrated against the display.
- Hardware and cleaningEvery fastener torqued to spec, thread-locker where the maker specifies, and a deep clean inside and out including motor and drive housings.
- Run test and sign-offA timed run or full-load test by the technician, then a second person checks the sheet, repeats the test and signs.

What the warranty covers, plainly
If a covered defect shows up during the warranty period, we repair it — parts and labor, on both tiers. The warranty covers function, not cosmetic condition: a Cleaned & Serviced machine is expected to show honest wear, and that is priced in. Two things buyers ask about most: warehouse pickup voids the warranty, because we cannot stand behind a machine we did not deliver and set down ourselves; and freight damage is the carrier's claim, not ours — note it at delivery before you sign, and add freight insurance to the quote if you want extra protection.

Condition and warranty questions
What's the difference between Cleaned & Serviced and Remanufactured?
Cleaned & Serviced means the machine is deep-cleaned and its moving and wear components are inspected, lubricated, or replaced as needed. Cosmetic condition is not addressed — no repainting or touch-up is included, so expect honest blemishes, wear, and scratches. Remanufactured means the machine is repainted, worn components are replaced with new parts, and it is made mechanically sound — our highest condition standard, though still pre-owned equipment. Both tiers go through the same written 20-point inspection by our own technicians; the difference is how far each point is taken. Warranty follows the tier: 30-day parts-and-labor on Cleaned & Serviced, 90-day on Remanufactured.
Which condition tier should I choose?
It depends on the tradeoff you care about: Cleaned & Serviced if function per dollar matters most — it arrives mechanically serviced but keeps its cosmetic wear, since touch-up isn't included in that tier. Remanufactured if appearance matters too — repainted, worn parts replaced with new, made mechanically sound. Tell us the use case when you request a quote and we'll recommend one rather than leave it to guesswork.
Do I get a warranty on used equipment?
It depends on the condition tier. As-Is equipment carries no warranty and is sold at its stated condition. Cleaned & Serviced includes a 30-day parts-and-labor warranty. Remanufactured includes a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Full terms are in our Terms and Conditions.
What happens if my equipment needs a warranty repair?
We'll repair it. If we can't, we'll replace it with equipment of similar quality or refund your purchase price, at our discretion. Because this is used equipment — more like a used car than a factory product — an identical replacement may not exist, and a comparable one isn't guaranteed to match the original exactly.
Does picking it up myself affect the warranty?
Yes — equipment you pick up from our warehouse yourself carries no warranty, regardless of condition tier. By taking pickup you're confirming you inspected it and accepted it in its current condition. Warranty coverage applies only to equipment we deliver. See our Terms and Conditions for the full policy.
How old is your used equipment?
Typically 3-5 years, though strength equipment can run 10+ years depending on condition. Age matters less than condition — a well-maintained older machine can outlast a newer one that saw harder use.
Will I receive the exact unit shown in the photo?
Usually not — most listings show a representative photo of that model and condition tier, since we may have several of the same unit in stock and only one gets photographed. Some listings do show the actual unit, especially lower-availability items; ask if you need to confirm before you buy.
Who services the equipment after I buy it?
Our sister company On Site Fitness Service runs dedicated repair and preventive-maintenance programs. Ask about a service plan when you request your quote, especially for a space nobody is watching day to day.
Does the manufacturer's original warranty carry over?
Rarely, though it's possible on equipment under about five years old — manufacturer terms are also affected by where it's installed and how it's used. We separately offer extended and additional warranty coverage for purchase if you want more protection.
