How to build a hotel fitness center that survives guests and reviews
A hotel gym is a public accommodation, used unsupervised at 2 am by a guest who will mention it in a review either way. Nobody watches for wear, the turnover is constant, and a tired room reaches a review faster than any other room in the building. That is the whole brief: recognizable commercial equipment that holds up without staff, kept presentable, at a price that does not need the new-equipment budget a brand refresh would otherwise consume.

Design
Designing for the guest at 2 am
Six decisions that produce a room a guest can walk into, use without help and leave a good review about.
Size: 400–800 sq ft limited-service, more for full-service
A limited-service property typically needs 400 to 800 sq ft; a full-service or resort facility runs well beyond that. Brand standards set equipment minimums — we translate those into real floor area at 25–50 sq ft per station (ACSM’s range) before a footprint is committed.
Self-explanatory equipment
No one will show a guest how anything works. Treadmills, ellipticals and bikes with plain consoles, a functional trainer with pictogram placards, dumbbells on a rack. If a machine needs instruction, it needs a different machine.
Accessible on an accessible route
A hotel gym is a public accommodation: at least one machine of each type with the ADA 30 by 48 in clear floor space beside it, on an accessible route with a 36 in clear path. Plan it into the layout rather than retrofit it.
Durability over shine
High turnover with nobody watching for wear means condition and warranty coverage matter more than brand-new finish. Cleaned & Serviced and Remanufactured commercial machines from the major lines hold up where consumer equipment fails inside a season.
Power, flooring and the room next door
Each treadmill needs its own dedicated 120 V 20 A circuit with a NEMA 5-20R outlet and an isolated neutral and ground. Rubber flooring at 8 mm under cardio, thicker under the dumbbell corner — and cardio placed away from the wall shared with a guest room.
Presentable is a maintenance schedule
A tired room is a review problem. Towels, a wipe station and a maintenance plan that keeps belts, decks and upholstery presentable are part of the equipment plan, not housekeeping’s problem later.

- Functional trainer plus a selectorized pulldown/row, press and leg station
- Full dumbbell run to 50 lb, two adjustable benches, kettlebells
- A stretch area; a stair climber if the ceiling allows
Condition tier: Remanufactured across the front row and the functional trainer; extended coverage on the cardio bank.
The resort fitness center
1,500+ sq ft · resorts and destination properties
An amenity guests choose the property for, sometimes with a studio, spa or outdoor deck.

Do I get a warranty on used equipment?
It depends on the condition tier. As-Is equipment carries no warranty and is sold at its stated condition. Cleaned & Serviced includes a 30-day parts-and-labor warranty. Remanufactured includes a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Full terms are in our Terms and Conditions.
Who services the equipment after I buy it?
Our sister company On Site Fitness Service runs dedicated repair and preventive-maintenance programs. Ask about a service plan when you request your quote, especially for a space nobody is watching day to day.
Can you install it, not just deliver it?
For commercial jobs, yes — our sister company Fit Supply's install teams handle that nationally. Ask when you request your quote and we'll get you connected.
Which condition tier should I choose?
It depends on the tradeoff you care about: Cleaned & Serviced if function per dollar matters most — it arrives mechanically serviced but keeps its cosmetic wear, since touch-up isn't included in that tier. Remanufactured if appearance matters too — repainted, worn parts replaced with new, made mechanically sound.
